RCC Award Structure (Trophies/Shields) – These awards cover racing and non- racing activities

 

  1. Club Person of the Year – The President’s Cup

An individual that has been particularly active across the range of Club events and activities and who has made a significant contribution in representing the Club and the jersey well in the wider cycling community.

  1. Ride of the Year – Tom Payne Memorial Shield

This is an individual or team performance that represented the RCC jersey well in an

impressive ride.

  1. Anthony Maynard Spirit Award – Anthony Maynard Silver Plate

This award is for a club runs leader or rider who is inspirational, valued and dependable in encouraging and assisting riders to achieve their full potential as bike riders and Club members.

  1. Volunteer of the Year – The John and Sheila Barnes Award

Recognition of the dedication and commitment made by an individual to the Club in the promotion,organisation or running of cycling events

  1. Points Competition Champion -John Stagoll Cup

Winner of the Reading CC points competition

  1. Most Improved Rider (female)

Club member who has shown great personal improvement in cycling ability over the past year

  1. Most Improved Rider (male)

Club member who has shown great personal improvement in cycling ability over the past year

The following cycle discipline awards are decided by Club Officers and the Committee after review of the results from the prior season in a way that reflects a balanced range of achievement across the season

  1. Time Triallist of the Year
  2. Achievement in Club Time Trials – Dave Finch Memorial Shield
  3. Hill Climber of the Year – R Turner Cup
  4. Track rider of the Year – Stan Higson Cup
  5. Cyclocross/MTB Rider of the Year
  6. Road Racer of the Year – Road Racer Cup
  7. Audax Rider of the Year – Nigel Potter Memorial Cup
  8. Sportive Rider of the Year – John Holland’s Trophy

 

In addition to the above awards our Annual Club Championship race winners are also recognised
